And the winner is…Ultra by David Carroll.

After months of waiting, the winners of the 2013 Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary Awards (CYBILS) have been announced, and Ultra tops the list in the Middle Grade Fiction category. As the award dictates, it’s a great combination of literary merit & kid appeal.

Also nominated in the Middle Grade Fiction category were four other noteworthy novels:

Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein
Prisoner B-3807 by Alan Gratz
Serafina’s Promise by Ann E. Burg
The 14 Fibs of Gregory K. by Greg Pincus

Go to sweetonbooks.com to see reviews of all FIVE of the Middle Grade Fiction nominees. And, take note: 4 out of 5 of these books feature a boy as the main character!

Check out the Cybils website to see all of the category winners.
