Nikola Tesla – Alive & Well in Children’s Literature

September 6th, 2013 by melissa g

Has anyone else noticed that Nikola Tesla seems to pop up a lot in children’s literature? From picture books to YA, the name Nikola Tesla keeps appearing. The inventor may have died more than 50 years ago, but his legacy lives on today. Are you wondering who Tesla is? You can visit the Nikola Tesla Museum to learn more. Or, if you can’t get to Serbia any time soon, check out the museum website for more information. So, here are the books where I’ve discovered that Nikola Tesla is either mentioned or featured. I know I’ve seen a few others, but I can’t place them at the moment, so if you have any titles to add to the list, please let us know.

The Unusual Mind of Vincent Shadow by Tim Kehoe

High-Voltage Danger Lab by Bob Pflugfleder & Steve Hockensmith

The Wells Bequest by Polly Shulman

Electrical Wizard by Elizabeth Rusch

Distant Waves by Suzanne Weyn
