Smile…because you are about to be introduced to a terrific book!

Smile, by Raina Telgemeier, is a not-to-be missed book about middle school.  Remember that (awful:) time when everything was hard:  friendships, school, parents, etc.  Well, add on a dental catastrophe and you have the story of Raina Telgemeier’s adolescence.  This brilliant graphic novel is actually autobiographical.  I loved it, my ten year old daughter loved it, and in a funny coincidence my twelve year old son liked it too, as he knocked all his front teeth out on the playground not too long ago.  The story is so honest and authentic, I was rooting for Raina the whole time I was reading it.  If your reader devours the Wimpy Kid books and is a tween, run out and get this book right now!  Consider Smile the thinking girls (and boys) Wimpy Kid.
